uncovering the individualist, iconoclast, leader, follower, imitator, trend-setter, inspired and independent; the whore, slut, prude, effeminate, delicate, and luxurious; the animal, the gruff, the masculine, and the muscle-flexing; the smooth, the rough, the balanced and unbalanced, the harmonious and unharmonious, the reserved and outspoken, the adamant and uncertain and the confused; and the simple-minded, homogenous, insipid, and uninspired; in the expression of wine.

Stella Rosa

Vintage: N/V

Producer: Stella Rosa

Cuvée: Il Conte d’Alba

Appellation: Piedmont

On My Palate:

Red fruit. Very floral. Light body and refreshing. Lovely.

The Dregs:

Yes, a sparkling red wine. And please don’t snub your nose. Nobody has more experience making bubbles in red than the Piedmontese, the people of Northwestern Italy.

This wine is delicious, and anyone who is scared to admit this suffers from a psychological block rooted in unfounded, cultural myths regarding the inferiority of sparkling red wines.

This is the happy-making wine without the bells and whistles and at a fraction of the price of Champagne. It replaces the funkiness of Champagne’s dead yeast cells with fresh red fruit and flowers. The starlet next to the face-lifted has been.

The Christmas wine?

Where:

At the restaurant before the dinner service with waitstaff and management and anyone over 21. An appropriate and important icebreaker before service.

Must Experience.
